Guest Speaker: Melinda Mann
Mel is the Program Manager for the Immigration Advice and Application Assistance Scheme (IAAAS) at SSI. In this role Mel and her team work closely with migration agents and lawyers to ensure they are providing quality services to those seeking Australia’s protection. Mel has extensive experience working with refugees & asylum seekers both in the community and detention settings and has also spent a number of years supporting our older Australians and those living with a disability. She is passionate about human rights and empowering vulnerable people in our community to tackle inequality.
Guest Speaker: Françoise Le Gall
Françoise Le Gall is the Program Manager for the Multicultural Foster Care Program at SSI. The program emphasises maintaining the bonds of ethnic background, religion and language when placing vulnerable children from diverse backgrounds. Françoise has worked in the Out of Home Care sector for over 20 years with other well- known CSO’s in Victoria in various roles. Françoise’s passion has always been and continues to be working with children, young people, families, and volunteers from various backgrounds to bring about positive change and equality whilst empowering individuals.
Guest Speaker: Michael Kheirallah
Michael Kheirallah is the coordinator for the Multicultural Gambling Harm Prevention Services at Settlement Services International (SSI). Michael has extensive experience in providing services to CALD communities. His 17 years working with the Department of Justice in Victoria has enabled him to establish strong links with different community agencies and government departments. His new role with SSI focuses on community education and stakeholder management.
